PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Plainfield Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday, July 6, and action may be taken.
At the June 27 meeting, the board appointed Dr. Caryn Cooper as Acting Superintendent. Plainfield Education Association President Eric Jones noted, "tonight we have met our third Superintendent since January."
Board of Education President Emily Morgan said in a June 28 press release, “The Board believes that Dr. Cooper possesses the necessary qualifications and experience to fulfill the role as Acting Superintendent of Schools while the Board completes its process of naming an Interim Superintendent."
The meeting will take place at 7:15 pm at Plainfield High School, located at 950 Park Avenue.
There are three Board of Education seats up for election in the district this November, and the deadline for interested candidates to file nominating petitions is July 31. Learn More Here.
