PLAINFIELD, NJ - Two ordinances up for first reading at the Aug. 14th Plainfield City Council meeting would require new permits to be obtained for film production companies and commercial landscapers.

The first ordinance introduced was MC 2017-27; it would require a permit for productions that want to film on location in the City of Plainfield.

Ordinance MC 2017-28 was then read.  It would require "registration of commercial landscaping," and would take effect January 1, 2018.  The permit would cost landscapers $50 and would be valid for two years; another $10 would be assessed for additional vehicles.

A sticker would be displayed in the window of every registered vehicle.  Fines would be imposed for those who don't register, starting at $100 for the first offense, $200 for the second, and $500 for the third.
