PLAINFIELD, NJ — Smoke could be seen blocks away due to a house fire on Randolph Road in Plainfield, near the intersection with Arlington Avenue.
According to a Breaking News Network alert around 1:30 p.m., command reported fire showing on the first and second floors of a 2.5-story wood frame home. The heavy fire conditions persisted, and resources from Linden, South Plainfield, and Union County could be seen on site.
PSE&G and fire investigators from Union County were also on hand.
Another BNN alert issued at 3:25 p.m. indicated command placed the fire under control.
According to Plainfield Fire Director Kenneth Childress, there were no reported injuries; two pets are missing.
