PLAINFIELD, NJ - Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin will be the feature film in the First Unitarian Society of Plainfield's 'Second Friday Film Series' in August.

The movie highlights the story of a person who was a crusader against racial injustice.  Bayard Rustin was the man who organized the civil rights movement's 1963 March on Washington, and received little credit.

An openly gay man, Senator Strom Thurmond attacked Rustin on the U.S Senate floor as a "homosexual, a draft-dodger, and a member of the Communist Party."

Rustin's career spanned sixty years as an activist.
