PLAINFIELD, NJ - February 3, 2016 - Plainfield High School's basketball player and 2016 graduate, Jaleel Simmons, 6'4", has signed a two-year contract with the Tallahassee Eagles.

Simmons could not hide his excitement recently when he visited Plainfield High School.  "They are ranked 9th in the nation and I can't wait to get there," said Simmons. "I leave in May."

Jaleel distinguished himself in 2016 not only as Plainfield High Schools forward for the Boys Varsity Basketball Team but also as a member of Plainfield High School’s Track and Field Team, winning the boys high jump at the Meet of Champions, in June 2016, held at Central Regional High School in Bayville.

Jaleel Simmons signed with the Tallahassee Eagles, Thursday, February 2, 2017.  His brother Jachai Simmons, a 2015 graduate of Plainfield is also going to college on a basketball scholarship at Midland College in Texas. Last week, Jachai Simmons, 6'7" for the second time was the Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week. He scored 45 points in 2 games last week. He was 19 of 38 from the field, hit nine 3-pointers, had 18 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots.
