CRANFORD, NJ - William Manotoa-Quiquintu of West Front Street in Plainfield was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m. on Friday evening after being hit by a car in Cranford.
In information obtained from Sgt. Quinn of the Cranford Police Department, at approximately 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, Cranford Police received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a male subject lying in the roadway on Springfield Avenue near Pawnee Road.
Responding police units discovered that an adult male, age 34 from Plainfield, had been struck by a 2010 Saturn, operated by a 60 year-old West Orange resident, while crossing or walking in the roadway. The victim was treated at the scene for life threatening injuries and was transported by EMS to JFK Medical Center.
The investigation is still ongoing, and is being conducted by the Cranford Police Department Traffic Bureau. The identities of the involved parties, and the specific details of the crash investigation, are being withheld pending family notifications and the conclusion of the active investigation.
At the time the person was transported from the scene, he was still being treated by EMS.
