PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield families are invited to the PMUA Eric C. Watson Memorial Environmental Fair on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Library Park, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The park will be transformed into a place for members of the community to both learn about green initiatives and have fun. Residents can sample an extensive array of food, including BBQ, Latino specialty foods, and carnival snacks, as well as enjoy music and entertainment.
This year's fair will feature over 30 environmentally-themed exhibits, including one from The Liberty Science Center in Jersey City. The engaging environmental programs will provide interactive and informative experiences for all ages. The hands-on exhibits will highlight issues like recycling, gardening, composting, wastewater management, science, eco-friendly art, astronomy and forestry.
In keeping with tradition, the day will kick off with a ceremony honoring students who won the PMUA’s annual recycle contests, Go Green and From Trash to Treasure, and their winning projects will be on display at the fair.
Plainfield Seniors will take part in activities and games, including several rounds of Bingo.
And everyone will have an opportunity to hear from local, county and state dignitaries who will speak about coming together to reduce carbon footprints.
Mark your calendar for this free event, and stop by Library Park, 800 Park Ave., for an informative and fun-filled day that will bring the community together.
