PLAINFIELD, NJ – The Plainfield Public Library has released its calendar of events for this month.

Love Dr. Seuss?  A special Storytime session will take place on Wednesday, March 22nd.  The following day, kids can make characters from the author’s beloved children’s tales, and then take photos at the Dr. Seuss display.  Both events held at 3:30 pm.

On March 13th, the Women’s History Scavenger Hunt will begin.  Complete a scavenger hunt of famous women in history to win a prize. The hunt will end on the last day of the month.

Other Storytime sessions take place on March 11th at 12:00 pm, with Barry Goode, and on March 27th at 6:00 pm, with Ms. Rosa.

This month's childrens' movie selections include:

  • Horton Hears a Who - March 2nd at 3:30 pm – the 2008 film based on the Dr. Seuss book, Horton the Elephant tries to protect a community.
  • He Named Me Malala - March 8th at 3:30 pm – the 2015 movie about Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai.
  • Queen of the Katwe - March 31st at 3:30 pm – a Ugandan girl whose life changes after learning the game of chess.

The library is also offering free computer classes this Spring.  Sign up online HERE, or call 908-757-1111, ext 112.  Tuesday morning classes are 9:30-11:00 am; Wednesday evening classes take place 7:00-8:30 pm.
