PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield Public Schools’ Plainfield Academy for the Arts and Advanced Studies (PAAAS) has been selected as the recipient of the 10th Annual Burlington Coat Factory, KIDS Fashion Delivers and Good Morning America’s “Warm Coats and Warm Hearts” coat drive.
Approximately 100 new coats donated by Burlington Coat Factory will be distributed during the PAAAS PTO meeting on January 19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at 1700 West Front Street and Rock Avenue in Plainfield, N.J.
“Plainfield Public School District students in need will be able to receive a coat, as supplies last. Please join us on Thursday, January 19 at 6:00 p.m.” said Superintendent of Plainfield Public Schools Anna Belin-Pyles.
The coats were made possible via a connection between the winner of ABC’s “Good Morning America” nationwide art contest to design the coat collection boxes, Ms. Danielle Biondi, 12, whose mother is Mrs. Lisa Biondi, a first grade bilingual teacher at Plainfield’s Washington Community School and the Goodwill Rescue Mission of Newark, N.J.
Ms. Biondi, a middle school student in Hillsborough will be present at the coat distribution as well as Burlington Coat Factory Corporate Representatives and Goodwill Rescue Mission of Newark. ABC will also be sending a film crew coordinated by "Good Morning America.”
Dr. Angela Bento, Principal of the school, expressed her gratitude for the selection of PAAAS as the recipient of the coat drive and welcomes all students who would like to be a part of this generosity by our neighbors and corporate sponsors to be present.
