PLAINFIELD- The Plainfield Special Improvement District's 5th Annual Block Party took place on Saturday to great numbers.

Block Partiers gawked at the GWIZ Sponsored auto show complete with muscle cars and show motorcycles including a bike belonging to Capt Phil from the hit TV Show the Deadliest Catch.  

Music acts rocked while the sounds while dignitaries from Plainfield City Council and Union County Board of Freeholders Endorsed the festivities.  Union County Chair of the Freeholders Linda Carter, commended Plainfield SID for the continued efforts to promote downtown business and the consumers who shop there.

Ronald McDonald , Batman and Wonderwoman showed up to take pictures with children and enjoy the delicious variety of international foods featured during the days festivities.

The event, which is sponsored by the Plainfield Special Improvement District, is meant to  promote community spirit as well as offer the downtown businesses a chance to promote their talents and services.  At the end of the day, the block party was a great way to spend an afternoon enjoying the very best that Plainfield has to offer, meeting its rich culture through food and music.

 

Manaroun Town is a TV and Film producer and is a native of Plainfield , NJ.
