PLAINFIELD, NJ - Claudette Aki Lanneaux, Plainfield Symphony Board Member, will be one of the artists showcasing their works at the New Life Christian Church tomorrow November 19th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Free Art Show will also feature works by Charles Webb and Bagley Goodwin.
Claudette was born and raised in New Jersey. The oldest of four children, with a Japanese mother, Toshiko Kishi Lanneaux, and African-American father, Marque W Lanneaux, Claudette started drawing at a very young age and was encouraged to develop her artistic talents by her parents. Her work focuses on women of Japanese and African decent with an emphasis on detail. Her pieces are mixed media, incorporating acrylic paint, pastel crayons, pen, ink, nail polish, stones, feathers, and fabric.
Claudette has exhibited in numerous venues in New Jersey and one exhibition in Washington, DC. In addition to painting, Claudette enjoys baking, classical piano and working out. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Plainfield Symphony assisting with grant writing and fundraising. She will also be participating in the upcoming Plainfield Symphony’s House Tour “Homes for the Holidays” Tour and Boutique on December 3rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
