PLAINFIELD, NJ - Join Mayor Adrian O. Mapp and members of the Plainfield City Council for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Seidler Field, located on North Avenue across from the Netherwood Train Station.
The festivities, with light refreshments, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 12:30 p.m.
According to Plaintalker II, "The City received a grant award of $1,100,000.00 from Green Acres for the project. Two city accounts of $63,000.00 and $217,628.79 will provide the balance of the $1,380,628.79 cost of the project."
In April, TAPinto Plainfield caught up to Mayor Mapp, who said, "on or about May 15th we will begin construction on a multi-turf sporting complex which will have football and soccer. And this is the way that we’re going to provide wholesome recreational activities to our young people in the 21st century."
Looks like we will get to see the fruits of these efforts this weekend. See you there!
