PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield's Veterans Day ceremony will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11, when Mayor Adrian O. Mapp, members of the administration, Veterans and residents will join together to remember those who have served.

The history of Veterans Day stems from when World War I fighting ceased between Allied nations and Germany.  The armistice took effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall, located at 515 Watchung Avenue in Plainfield.

The Drake House Musuem will also be open on Friday and Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Currently the museum is featuring an exhibit entitled, “Plainfield During World War 1.”
