PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Plainfield YMCA will kick off its annual fundraising campaign with its Spring Gala on Friday, May 20 at the Plainfield Country Club.

This year’s event will honor long-time Plainfield residents Mrs. Nina Weil, who will receive the Dr. Jerome Wolff Achievement Award for long-time financial support, and Mrs. Benda Anderson, who will be presented with the Building Bridges Award for many decades of dedicated community service. Both ladies are longtime Plainfield residents and have both been ardent supporters of the Plainfield YMCA.

The event will feature a VIP reception, buffet, open bar, music, silent and live auctions. Last year’s gala was a tremendous success, raising over $125,000 from contributions, ticket sales and live and silent auction proceeds. This year’s auction items include a signed 2015 Barclays PCC Flag by winner Jason Day, a golf outing for three at the Merion Country Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania and many more enticing items.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Plainfield Y’s many programs including summer camp, after school, foster care age-out programs and its emergency shelter program.  Tickets are available and the public can RSVP by visiting the website at  or calling (908)756-6060.
