PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield's Dairy Queen invites the community to a special celebration to mark two incredible milestones.
Stop by on Thursday, May 18th and join the party as the Albanese family celebrates mom Adele, who will turn 85 years young. It will also mark the fifteenth anniversary of receiving the life-saving kidney transplant from her daughter, Donna.
On May 29, 2002, Donna gave her mother a new lease on life by donating her kidney. They are both advocates of the importance of organ and tissue donation, and speak publicly about their experience to inspire others. Donna has also participated in the Donate Life Rose Parade Float as part of the Tournament of Roses Parade that takes place each year on New Year's Day.
Dairy Queen often gives back to the Plainfield community. A popular event includes their quarterly Bike Giveaways that provide bicycles to persons in need.
Thursday's party will feature free slices of cake, hot dogs for just 85 cents, and a chance to win prizes, too. Located at 1367 South Avenue in Plainfield, the Dairy Queen celebration will run from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
