PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfielders are warm, generous and caring and they have responded with empathy and action to the disaster caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston Texas. Like Ms. Roslyn Bradshaw who has stood on the corner of 5th and Watchung for the past three days collecting donations to send to the victims.

This massive hurricane has devastated many communities and left families homeless, destitute, with only the clothes on their backs to call their own.

Our hearts go out to the relatives of those who lost their lives and those who are now suffering in its aftermath. In the face of disasters like these, we forget our differences, our color, religious disagreements, and we remember that we are all one family, and that is... human.

Plainfield, it's time to let our humanity shine and lend a helping hand.

Based on feedback from various charitable agencies, it's been determined that the most efficient way to provide aid to those impacted is by way of monetary donation. The logistics and disbursement cost associated with shipping goods there, while important, make it a less effective method for providing immediate relief.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund - listed below are some ways you can donate. All donations are tax deductible.

Methods to Donate:

Online Credit Card Donations: CLICK HERE. Online credit card donations will be assessed a small fee, typically 3%, by the credit card companies. Donors have the option of increasing their credit card donations to cover this fee.
Checks/Money Orders: Mail to Greater Houston Community Foundation, 5120 Woodway Drive, Suite 6000, Houston, TX 77056.
Transfer Cash by Wire: Wire To: JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A.
