PLAINFIELD, NJ - Members of the Plainfield Police Division’s Criminal Investigation Bureau Narcotic/VICE Section executed a Superior Court search warrant on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 301 Richmond St., Apt. 2B at approximately 5:50 p.m.
The search warrant was a result of a one month investigation, conducted by Detective Michael Metz, into the distribution of cocaine by target Juan Gonzalez, 36, of Plainfield.
Prior to the execution of the search warrant, Gonzalez was seen conducting a narcotic transaction with Luis Rodriguez-Gutierrez, 31, of Somerset, in the 100 block of North Ave.
Both suspects were detained and found to be in possession of cocaine, and Gonzalez was found to be in possession of cash. The men were arrested and shortly after, the search warrant was executed.
During the search, members of the Narcotic/VICE Section seized over 14 ounces of cocaine and over $22,000 in cash, along with narcotic packaging materials.
Gonzalez was charged with CDS, Distribution of CDS, and Possession of CDS with the intent to distribute over 5 oz. (1st degree). He was held in lieu of bail.
Rodriguez-Gutierrez was charged with Possession of CDS and was released from custody.
