PLAINFIELD, NJ — The Rotary Club has announced that this is the last week to place your ticket order for their Annual Wine Tasting Dinner. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 5, at Giovanna’s Restaurant in Plainfield. South Plainfield resident Shirley Weaver Thompson will receive the 2017 Service Above Self Award at the dinner.
“We thank those who have made their reservations early,” said Shannon Jefferys, ticket sales chair. ”We hope those who haven’t reserved will email me this week so I can make sure tickets are available. We will reserve tables for parties of eight and will make every attempt to seat guests with their preferred party, even if less than eight.”
The highlight of the dinner will be presentation of the Service Above Self Award to Shirley Thompson, along with a check representing the Rotary Club’s own donation for her project. Borough Mayor Matt Anesh and Council President Derryck White will attend, with the Mayor presenting a proclamation to recognize Mrs. Thompson for her “Shirley Thompson’s Christmas” project.
Tickets for the Wine Tasting Dinner are $70.00 each. A tax deductible portion of the cost is made possible by writing checks to the Rotary Plainfield-North Plainfield Foundation (Rotary PNP, Inc.). Seating is limited and early reservations recommended. If you cannot attend, consider a donation to Shirley Thompson’s Christmas.
Please contact Shannon Jefferys of South Plainfield’s Columbia Bank for more information and to make a reservation or a donation. Shannon can be reached at 908-757-1055 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
