PLAINFIELD, NJ - 'Twas the week before Christmas in Plainfield, and local children had the opportunity to choose a doll, a truck, or a basketball at two toy drives held by the city's first responders.  Families had the chance to take pictures with Santa, who took a break from the North Pole, and warmed up with cups of hot chocolate.

The Plainfield Police PBA Local 19 event was held at the Plainfield Rescue Squad on Thursday.  Detective Carlos Gonzalez, President of the PBA, said, "Even with the inclement weather, we still had a great turnout. The look on the kids' faces makes it all worth it."  The PBA has been running this Christmas toy drive for over twenty years.

Selket Damon of the Plainfield Fire Division said, "We had a blast and all our guests received a bit of holiday cheer."  The Friday night event was held at headquarters.
