MANVILLE, NJ – The Kelsey Charity Run, Inc., a volunteer organization that assists children with life threatening conditions through community fundraising, will host a “Winter Break Party” on Saturday, March 11 to help three-year-old Sadie Ally fight kidney cancer. The organization is hoping to raise $20,000 at the event to ease the financial burden of the Ally family.

“The Kelsey Charity Run organization became aware that Sadie was ill several months ago and wanted to help her family through this difficult ordeal,” said Jim Cookingham, president, Kelsey Charity Run. “Sadie’s family has given so much to the community, and now it’s our turn to give something back.”

Sadie has Wilms’ Tumor cancer, a common form of children’s cancer that usually begins in the kidneys.  After her right kidney was removed, the cancer metastasized to her lung. Sadie endures frequent chemotherapy and radiation treatments to battle her illness.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m.  A pay-one-price admission fee of $50 in advance or $60 at the door includes:  $15 entry fee, free Kelsey Charity Run long sleeve shirt, $5 lottery tree ticket, $10 strip of 50/50 tickets, $10 mega raffle ticket, and a $15 tricky tray sheet of 25 tickets (total value $75). Regular admission of $15 can be purchased in advance or at the door.

Tickets for the Mega Raffle are $10 each for a chance to win a 50” 4k Ultra HD-TV, Coors Lite Refrigerator or NY Mets tickets.  In addition, Kelsey Charity Run Motorcycle Raffle tickets will be on sale for $50 each. Prizes include a 2017 H-D Street Glide Special and a 55” 4K Ultra HD-TV. The drawing is on June 18 at the Kelsey Charity Run Family Picnic.

GoodWorks is the charitable arm of PL Communications, a New Jersey-based marketing communications firm. Founder Paul Lavenhar has worked with many nonprofit organizations and has also been involved in rock bands for the past 30 years. In 2013, Lavenhar founded the rock and soul band GoodWorks, which performs music from the Eagles to James Brown to Bruce Springsteen, to benefit good causes by raising awareness and funds. GoodWorks was inspired by the success of its “N.J. Diner Tour,” where band members raised $7,500 by playing in 21 diners in 48 hours to promote food banks across the state. The band has helped a school music program, healthcare foundation, special needs service organization, community arts program and a theater group, among others.
