MORRIS COUNTY, NJ, – Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) will discuss legislation before Congress, update activists on key issues, and take viewers’ questions in a Facebook Live event on Wednesday, March 14 at 7 p.m., hosted by Action Together New Jersey (ATNJ).
The event is the first in a planned series designed to connect activists with politicians and officials, giving them an opportunity to learn about the latest regional and national developments as they prepare to register voters and get people to the polls in the 2018 election. ATNJ’s goal in hosting the series, which will include further interactive sessions to be announced in coming months, is to give members access to their elected officials and encourage open dialogue. Questions will be accepted in advance and also taken during the live stream.
"We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our senator and to hear updates about the causes that matter most to us. I’m especially looking forward to hearing more about the Environmental Justice Act and efforts to oppose toxic nominees to the EPA,” said organizer Christine Clarke, Environmental Policy Director with ATNJ. “I hope the senator will receive many questions and have ample time to answer them,” she added.
“Our statewide activist group has been working hard over the last year to defend our progressive values and protect the public interest,” said Uyen “Winn” Khuong, Executive Director of ATNJ. “Our teams have put countless hours and enormous effort into the issues that matter to us, and we’re grateful for the chance to hear what Senator Booker has to say about them.”
Anyone interested in watching and participating in the event should “Like” or “Follow” ATNJ’s public Facebook page to be notified when the event goes live on March 14.
