Accompanying storyteller Johnson will be percussionist and artist Chris White III. White has been performing for local dance classes and is a Bloomfield College graduate specializing in Interactive media.
Johnson said, "Storytelling, through the use of language, facial expression, and repetition, helps listeners to understand the use of language in their everyday lives. Multicultural Stories, in particular, help listeners to understand that all people have more commonalities than differences"
Johnson's most recent engagements have been at libraries in East Orange, Hillside, Lakewood, and Paterson and at assisted living facilities in East Orange and Teaneck. She performs annually at the New Jersey Storytelling Festival and the Harlem Book Fair.
The event starts at 6 p.m. at Plainfield High School, 950 Park Avenue.
