  • Plainfield City Hall is closed.
  • The Plainfield Public Schools district, Cresthaven Academy, Queen City Academy Charter School.
  • The Plainfield Public Library will be closed.
  • Frontiers International will host its 45th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Celebration online at 10 a.m. Learn more here.
  • According to communication from the Plainfield Municipal Utilities Authority, trash pickup on Plainfield's east end — in zones 3, 4, 6, 9 and 10 — will be collected, although PMUA offices and the transfer station will be closed.

  • The Plainfield Board of Education's Business Meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Visit the district's website for agendas (see Board Docs) and the link to join meeting.

  • Another testing opportunity is limited to Plainfield Public Schools staff and students who can get tested at Plainfield High School — 950 Park Avenue — on Saturday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The testing event is in partnership with Neighborhood Health Services Corporation. Those interested in taking the test, must pre-register online. No one will be provided the test without registering prior to the day of testing. Registration will close on Thursday, January 21 at 5:00 p.m.  Register Here.
  • A drive-thru emergency food distribution event will take place at Union County Vocational Technical School at 1776 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. The first 1,000 vehicles will receive boxes of produce and shelf stable food.
