  • It's the Easy Reader Book Club with Ms. J. in the Children's Room at the Plainfield Public Library.  At 3:30 p.m., 800 Park Ave.
  • An information session for a Cisco training program will be held at the Union County College Plainfield campus, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Room L-20.  Register to attend the session here.

  • Girls volleyball:  at home vs. Benedictine Academy, 4 p.m. at Plainfield High School, 950 Park Ave.
  • Girls soccer:  at home vs. Roselle Catholic, at 4:15 p.m. 
  • Boys soccer:  away, the team plays in Cranford at 4 p.m.
  • Boys and girls track:  4 p.m. meet at Oak Ridge, Cranford-UC-SPF-Elizabeth

  • Girls tennis:  Union County Championships at Hub Stine.
  • A seminar for new entrepreneurs, sponsored by the New Jersey Business Owners Alliance, will be held at duCret School of Art, 1030 Central Ave. from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees will learn how to create a business plan, utilize social media, and learn about tools and resources.  The event is appropriate for both new business owners, and those looking to take their business to the next level.

  • Girls soccer:  a home match against Dover High School at Hub Stine, at 4:15 p.m.
  • Girls volleyball:  away at Abraham Clark in Roselle at 4 p.m.

  • The Union County Freeholders Agenda Setting Session is at 7 p.m. in the Freeholders’ Meeting Room, Administration Building, 10 Elizabethtown Plaza, 6th Floor, in Elizabeth.


  • Football:  the Cardinals take on J.P. Stevens in Edison at 7 p.m.
  • Girls soccer:  a home match, with time to be announced, vs. Hillside at Hub Stine.


  • The 2018 Tri-County History Fair will be held at the Plainfield Public Library, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Linda J. Barth, New Jersey historian and author, will speak at 11:30 a.m.  Judy G.   • PAAAS is holding a clothing drive fundraiser, collecting new and gently used men's, women's and children's clothing, shoes, purses and more.  Items can be dropped off at 1700 West Front St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Use the entrance on Rock Ave. is Plainfield's free online daily newspaper for Plainfield, NJ news.
