PLAINFIELD, NJ - Thanksgiving is here, but not everyone will be able to spend time and share a meal with family and friends.  However, no one should be alone, so if you or someone you know needs a place to go, here are some options available in Plainfield.

FUSP, or the First Unitarian Society of Plainfield, is offering a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for anyone who is looking for a place to share a hot meal and fellowship.

All are welcome.  FUSP is located at 724 Park Avenue.

Also, Abundant Grace Worship Ministries is holding its 1st Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner with Bishop A.C. Ambrose and Elect Lady Dr. Veronica Ambrose in the Heard One Building starting at 2:00 through 5:00 p.m.

There is no charge, and there will be delicious food and worship.  For more information, call 908-222-2144.

Abundant Grace Worship Ministries is located at 210 Church Street.

Finally, if you are lucky enough to spend the day with those you love, but you bought way too much food, consider donating those extra new, non-perishable food items like cans of cranberry sauce to a local pantry or food drive.

One food collection is being run by Netherwood Heights Neighbors.  It is the non-profit group's 11th year providing food donations to families in need who are identified by Plainfield Action Services.  NHN buys both a turkey and a ham for each family; the rest of the items are donated by generous neighbors.

If you would like to contribute, you can drop food items off at 1116 Loraine Avenue in the Netherwood section of town from Sunday, Nov. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 14.  Deliveries will be made on Saturday, Dec. 16.

For more information, email netherwoodneighbors@gmail.com.

From our TAPinto Plainfield family to you and yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving - we are thankful for our time together!
