PLAINFIELD, NJ - The deadline to file the appropriate paperwork for positions on the School Board was Monday, July 31st by 4:00 p.m. in the Office of the Union County Clerk in Elizabeth. Three potential candidates from Plainfield attempted to submit minutes after the deadline passed, but were denied.
Plaintiffs Eric J. Andrews, Terence J. Johnson, and Cameron E. Cox, who lost in his run for the City Council-at-Large seat in June, have filed a civil action suit against Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi. The suit directs her to include their names on the ballot for the Plainfield Board of Education.
The case will be heard on Wednesday, Aug. 30th at 9:00 a.m. in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Elizabeth.
The six candidates who will be on the ballot in the November election are Timothy A. Priano, Tera Phipps, Avonia Richardson-Miller, William A. Contreras, Aisha Eustache and Harry M. Watson, Jr.
