PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield's Second Street Youth Center (SSYC) summer camp attendees will hold their Summer Showcase presentation as part of the camp's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) program.

According to a press release, "The SSYC summer camp keeps pace with continued learning in the key STEAM areas. Research shows that during the summer, most youth particularly those from lower income families with fewer resources, fail to fully retain what they have learned the prior school year. The losses have been shown to be most acute in the areas of reading and math and without the proper learning stimulation and healthy meals, a serious summer slide occurs."

SSYC presents kids with an active, healthy summer full of enriched learning, from drumming to dance, drama to science, swimming to sports activities, group performance to open play.  SSYC provides children with healthy food, fun, and friendship, and social and educational growth.
