ELIZABETH, NJ — A three-year-old boy fell from a window of his home and was mauled to death by the family’s dogs on Wednesday night, Acting Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo, Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca and Police Director Earl Graves jointly announced.

According to a press release from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, the child fell 15 feet from a rear window of his family’s home on the 400 block of South 5th Street. After falling, he was then attacked by the family’s two dogs. The child was rushed to Trinitas Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The dogs were brought to another location by a local animal control organization. 

This incident remains under investigation. No criminal charges associated with this incident have been filed at this time.
