Update - Plainfield Mayor Adrian O. Mapp told TAPinto Plainfield:  "Yes, I will continue serving the residents of Plainfield as Mayor," and he said, "Freeholder Carter has my one hundred percent support."

Earlier this month, Carter received the 2018 Service Above Self Award at the Rotary Club of Plainfield-North Plainfield’s 19th Annual Wine Tasting Dinner.  President Roberta Smith cited Freeholder Carter’s exemplary service to the city of Plainfield as the determining factor in her selection for the award.

“Our Service Above Self Award is presented to deserving individuals who work tirelessly for the benefit of others with no thought of any personal gain,” said Ms. Smith. “Freeholder Carter is such a person, a quiet, determined, dedicated public servant who has served the people of Plainfield and Union County with distinction.”

This is a developing story.
