PLAINFIELD, NJ - Late afternoon on Friday, a fire broke out in a home at Roosevelt Avenue and East 6th Street in Plainfield. In addition to Plainfield, both South Plainfield and North Plainfield responded to the scene.

According to Fire Chief Frank Tidwell, "this was an awesome stop."  He said the fire started on the first floor, and was in the walls.  Firefighters were able to get lines in to confine the fire to the walls so it didn't get into the attic.  No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unclear at this time, and the county will be investigating.
