ROSELLE  PARK, NJ - Roselle Park kicked off “Pride Season” with the Borough’s first ever “Celebration of Colors” LGBTQ Pride event to celebrate family, equality, diversity, and community.

This LGBTQ Pride outdoor event for Roselle Park comes after three years of trying and the weather not cooperating. 

Jane Clementi, Co-Founder of the Tyler Clementi Foundation was the special honored guest speaker, followed by a few recognitions that included former openly out Roselle Park Councilman Thos Shipley, the Roselle Park High School Gay-Straight Alliance, the Union County Office of LGBTQ Affairs and WellCare Health Plans Inc.

There were many activities and live entertainment throughout the day and concluded with a Community Unity Rainbow “Color Toss” at dusk, and the playing of an outdoor movie “Hairspray” - the 1988 classic John Waters film.
