PLAINFIELD, NJ – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Plainfield as the fourth Nor’easter in three weeks barrels up the eastern seaboard. The storm is kind of a bad trick as snow is set to begin on the first full day of spring.
The latest forecast call for 12-16 inches, with heavy mixed winter precipitation transitioning to heavy snow. The NWS is warning heavy snow with strong wind gusts is likely to cause down trees and power lines. This storm is predicted to be much like the March 7th storm that left thousands of residents without power, and widespread tree damage.
Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the evening commute on Wednesday. Expect significant reductions in visibility at times.
The warning is in effect from midnight Tuesday through 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
