LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Plainfield High School wrestling team won its first team title at an individual tournament since 1967 on Saturday at the Rumble in the Pines Tournament.

Seniors Wilson Carrillo (132 lbs), Johnny Cruz (138 lbs), Shaeed Greene (152 lbs) and junior Ki'zuran Casey (170 lbs) were all champions in their weight class, while Tylik Epps (120 lbs) and McRae Nkellefack were runner-ups.  

Issac Salinas (106 lbs) placed 3rd, Eswin Orellana (182 lbs) and Mishael Ugarte (145 lbs) placed 4th, and Johnny Vasquez (195 lbs) and Emmanuel Sutton (220 lbs) placed 5th.

The wrestling team will be back in action on Jan. 4 when the Cardinals host crosstown rival North Plainfield High School in the first home match of the season.
