EDISON, NJ -- The Wardlaw+Hartridge School community enjoyed exciting basketball action, food, fun and an entertaining, spirited atmosphere at the Booster Club's annual Winter Games. Although the varsity girls and JV boys lost their basketball games, the varsity boys staged a comeback from an early deficit to defeat Highland Park in a thrilling contest. The annual Alumni Basketball Game featured many surges, twists and turns before the Green team, coached by Athletic Director Karl Miran defeated the White team, coached by Head of School Andy Webster.

Other highlights included a Most Valuable Fan contest, which was won by Tommy Majkowski of Woodbridge, who was dressed as Olaf from Frozen. The MFV group prize went to The Cooking Club, comprised of juniors Taras Erachshaw of Colonia, Neil Shah of Edison, Henry Bowman of Scotch Plains and Kevin Yan of Plainfield, who inspired the crowd with their antics during the varsity boys' basketball rally. Tommy received a $50 gift card to purchase W+H Rams apparel and the group winners received a dress down day and other prizes.

Senior basketball players, cheerleaders and track athletes received recognition. Several contests spiced up the event, including a Hot Shot Contest with several small prize winners and Half-Court Shot Contest, during which Austin Forsythe '21 won $50 and a Rams sweatshirt. There were also moments of silence before each game in dedication and respect for the memory of Lee Johnson, the Booster Club president, who passed away in December.
