SAYREVILLE, NJ -- The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced its members of the 2021 Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday, April 14, and senior defensive back Joseph Behr, a Sayreville native, who played his high school football at St. Joseph (Metuchen), was among the names receiving the honor from across all divisions of football.

Behr was among 910 players from 255 schools who received recognition for achieving numerous criteria. All nominees must have completed their final year of playing eligibility in Fall 2020 or Spring 2021; graduated players, who have remaining eligibility but will not return to collegiate play (e.g. declared for NFL Draft or retired from football), may also be nominated, attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale), met all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements, and been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2020-21 season.

The 5' 11', 160-lb. defensive back played in all 11 games in 2019 and finished with 26 tackles and one interception and was set to continue to improve his production in the 2020 season. On the academic side, Joe is in the regiment of cadets and is majoring in Naval Architecture with a USCG Engine License.
