Scrap Metal Drive - Warren Boy Scouts Troop 228

A scrap metal drive will be held on Saturday, June 12 from 8am to 11:30am at the Community Firehouse on Community Place in Warren, hosted by Warren Boy Scout Troop 228.   Area residents are encouraged to drop off household items containing metals, which will be offloaded from your vehicle and sorted for recycling by the Troop.   Examples of items for recycling include the following:

--appliances such as microwave ovens, toasters

--electrical wire, power cords, cable cords

--computers, Christmas lights

--engines, motors

--automobile or boat batteries

--aluminum  (awnings, car rims)

--plumbing fixtures, pipes

--brass bathroom fixtures

--lawn mowers

--old metal tools

--radiators

--stainless steel appliances/items

--copper roofing/flashing

 

This drive supports the Scouts' conservation efforts to reduce landfill waste.  The Troop's Fall 2020 drive collected 29,000 pounds (14.5 tons) of scrap metal which was recycled.
