PLAINFIELD, NJ — The Plainfield Public Library building is still closed due to COVID-19, but services are available to residents, albeit curbside. Whether you are a student heading back to school, or someone seeking a little escapism through books and movies during quarantine, you can obtain the resources you need, and the ones you may want.
This curbside service is available to residents until the library is allowed to open again. DVDs can be checked out for two weeks, and all other items will be checked out for four weeks. Here's how to go about it:
- Place your order online via the online catalog, or call 908-757-1111, x111.
- You will receive a notification via your preferred method (phone, email, text) that your items are ready. After you receive the notification, call 908-757-1111, x111 to schedule a pickup time, and then show up on that date and time.
- At that time, call the staff at 908-757-1111, x111 to let them know you are there.
- Wait in your vehicle or by the flagpole until your items are at the collection point, and the staff member has returned to the building.
Library staff have put together a brief video to illustrate the process. Need more info? Visit the library's FAQ page.
Need a library card? Plainfield's residents can register for one that will provide database access during the closure due to COVID-19. Visit the website page here to get yours.
Need WiFi? It's available for free, and reaches both parking lots and into Library Park. You can connect to the PPLWIFI network, and no password is required.
The Plainfield Public Library is located at 800 Park Avenue. For more information, visit www.plainfieldlibrary.info.
