PLAINFIELD, NJ - The City of Plainfield will host its holiday lights celebration and tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 PM. This year’s event will again feature the community choir led by Wendell Woods, Minister of Music at Shiloh Baptist Church.  The choir has been rehearsing for several weeks, and is comprised of community members of all ages.

A highlight of the event will be a visit from Santa riding on a fire engine, escorted by the brave men and women in the Plainfield Fire Department. Santa will spend some time distributing toys and taking pictures with children under 12.

The tree lighting ceremony has been a tradition in Plainfield for many years; in the past few years it has expanded to include the lighting of a Kinara and a Menorah and is highly anticipated and attended by many residents young and old.

Plainfield City Hall is located at 515 Watchung Ave.
