PLAINFIELD, NJ - Sheila E. did not disappoint the large crowd that attended the 2019 Rhythm & Blues by the Brook concert at Cedar Brook Park, and TAPinto Plainfield was there to capture some special moments. Singing many of her classic songs and Prince tunes, too, the crowd sang and danced along.
Midway in her performance, Sheila E. wandered throughout the crowds and invited selected fans to join her on stage! Sharing her message of peace and unity, she asked the crowd to turn to someone, give them a hug and say, “I love you.”
Earlier in the day the festivities included Thomas McClary and the Commodores Experience, Dean Shot and the Solidsenders tribute to Howlin’Wolf, and Plainfield’s own Bindi Liebowitz of NBC’s season 11 The Voice.
Children were treated to activities that included inflatables, pony rides and a petting zoo, as well as a marketplace featuring food vendors, a free car show presented by G-Wiz, and a health and wellness fair by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
TAPinto Plainfield also caught up with G-Wiz at the car show who explained his history with the Rhythm & Blues by the Brook concerts that began nine years ago with the aim of drawing more crowds to the concerts.
