PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Historical Society of Plainfield is inviting the public to its 23rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Drake House Museum, and the event will include a visit from Santa.
The evening's festivities start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, and will include caroling, gift giving, and refreshments. A gingerbread house will once again be generously awarded to one lucky winning family. Children are encouraged to participate as Santa will make a surprise visit, with a gift for every child.
A number of Christmas trees can be seen throughout the museum, and a newly restored dollhouse will be displayed.
The program is free to the public. Due to space limitations and safety concerns, the Drake House is unable to provide space for baby strollers or carriages.
The Historical Society of Plainfield welcomes any monetary donations and new toys. Please make check or money order payable to “Historical Society of Plainfield.” New toys can be dropped off at the Drake House Museum, 602 West Front St. Call 908-755-5831 to schedule a drop-off time.
