PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Historical Society of Plainfield is inviting the public to its 23rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Drake House Museum, and the event will include a visit from Santa.

The evening's festivities start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, and will include caroling, gift giving, and refreshments.  A gingerbread house will once again be generously awarded to one lucky winning family.  Children are encouraged to participate as Santa will make a surprise visit, with a gift for every child.

A number of Christmas trees can be seen throughout the museum, and a newly restored dollhouse will be displayed.
