PLAINFIELD, NJ – Here is a rundown of events happening this week in the Queen City. Where will we see you this week?

Plainfield Restaurant Week continues: A 10-day celebration of food in the City of Plainfield, from August 8 to 18.  The kickoff is at Music in the Park. Visit the Plainfield Special Improvement District website for a list of participating restaurants.

Monday, August 12th:

  • City of Plainfield: The City Council Combined Meeting takes place at the Municipal Court at 325 Watchung Ave, at 7 pm. Download the agenda here.
  • Plainfield Public Library:  Audiotool: Learn how to make your own beats, load & manipulate samples, and more using this free online app. For ages 11-17. FREE! Contact Andrew Easton at (908)757-1111 Ext. 139 for more information

Tuesday, August 13th :

  • Plainfield Public Library (800 Park Ave, Plainfield, NJ):  Code Combat 2019. 11-17 yrs at 4 pm in the Computer Lab. Learn to code while questing through dungeons and fantasy lands!
  • Cinema Tuesdays: Children’s Movie “Incredibles 2” at 1 pm in the Anne Louise Davis Room.

Wednesday, August 14th:

  • Community Outreach Meeting at the Plainfield High School Auditorium at 6 pm to 10 pm. Hosted by Councilman 3rd Ward, Charles McRae residents can expect to learn about the purpose of the City’s Master Plan and timeline for the update of the master plan.

Thursday, August 15th:

  • Plainfield Public Library: Rutgers STEAM Program. Ages 8 to 12 learn about science as you do experiments. Registration is required. Contact the library at (908)757-1111.
  • City of Plainfield: Planning Board Meeting at 7:30 pm at the City Hall Library. Download agenda here.
  • Restaurant Week Mid-Week celebration at Grant BBQ featuring band Bander Sensacional Concert at 5 pm to 9 pm For more information click here.

Friday, August 16th:

  • Plainfield Public Library: Children’s Movie “Bumble Bee” at 1 pm in the Anne Louise Davis Room

Saturday, August 17th

  • Microchip & Free Rabies Clinic at Fire Department Headquarters at 315 Central Avenue at 10 am to 1 pm. Microchip at discounted price of $10 per pet. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
