PLAINFIELD, NJ — The Plainfield School District is calling all the Middle & High School students who are interested in taking free advanced courses in Creative Writing, Modern Dance, Acting, Visual Arts, Theater Arts and Graphic Design to apply to the Union County Arts HS & MS Arts Program by the upcoming deadline on Saturday, November 30, 2019.
A call to the students and their parents was sent via school messenger and other media. The goal is to assist the students in accessing the information to apply.
The Arts in Education- Gifted and Talented Program- offers students the opportunity to take advanced courses and receive college credits (High School students only). The classes are offered during the regular school day at Union County College and the students are transported to the college by the Plainfield School District.
To apply students should visit www.ArtsHigh.net. They may also download the application and fax it. Students will receive an invitation to audition in the area they selected. Transportation for auditions will be provided. Students should contact Mr. Lee Best, District College and Career Readiness Counselor.
This program has been made possible in part by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts /Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, and is offered by the Plainfield School District in partnership with Union County College.
