Plainfield, NJ – Students started the new school year to the familiar sounds of dance music as they arrived at Plainfield High School for the first day of school.

Greeted by members of Gentlemen Making Changes Inc., city officials, Board of Education and City Council members, along with several stakeholders in the community, the students shook hands and gave high-fives to those standing along the entrance to greet students and offer words of encouragement.

Dr. Diana Mitchell, Plainfield’s new superintendent, met students as well, and handed out wristlets engraved with “Champions for Students,” a slogan she introduced at the recent meet and greet event on August 28.
