PLAINFIELD, NJ - Students at Plainfield Public Schools participated in a moment of silence, held class discussions and listened to inspirational messages to mark the events of 9/11 on Wednesday.

Superintendent Dr. Diana Mitchell visited Hubbard Middle School, where students listened to inspirational messages.  

Principal Kwame Asante rang a chime at 8:46 a.m., 9:03 a.m., 9:37 a.m. and 10:03 a.m. to mark each attack in New York City, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. 18 years ago.

Rihanna Simon, an 8th grade student at Hubbard Middle School, read the following message: "We are unified today by our human decency and universal compassion for the well-being of others. Have a safe and positive day!"
