PLAINFIELD, NJ — Plainfield’s unofficial results for Tuesday’s General Election are in.  Here’s your sneak peek.  All results are unofficial, as reported by Union County.  TAPinto Plainfield will publish official results as soon as they are available.

Uncontested Second Ward Councilman-elect Sean McKenna received 1,205 votes, while Councilman-At-Large First and Fourth Wards Barry Goode received 1,349 votes.

Three school board seats were up for election today.   Incumbents Carmencita Pile (1,980, or 17.18%)) and Lynn Anderson-Person (1,940, or 16.83%)), who ran with Mack F. Rice, Jr. on the For Our Children ticket, held onto their seats.  The one that was held by Eric Andrews will be filled by Willie Pat Hembree from the Children First Team, who garnered 1,800, or 15.62% of the votes.

In the General Assembly 22nd Legislative District race, Linda Carter received 14,442 votes (42.07%), and James Kennedy got 13,920 votes (40.55%).

Voters had to vote for three in the Union County Freeholders race.  Rebecca Williams, at 45,675 (24.34%), current Chair Bette Jane Kowalski at 44,708 (23.83%), and Sergio Granados, at 43,484 (23.18%) are the projected winners.  

In the Surrogate race, James La Corte received 45,544 votes (64.54%) to Peter Lijoi’s 24,973 (35.39%).
