PLAINFIELD, NJ - Queen City Academy Charter School (QCACS) announced its expansion plans to become a high school for the 2020 - 2021 school year. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, QCAS was originally chartered in 1999 and opened in 2000. Today QCACS is the oldest charter school in Plainfield.

Ranked #15 of Best Charter Schools in New Jersey, QCACS is committed to preparing students for the most academically challenging high school programs. For the 2020-2021 School Year, QCACS will expand their reach by adding one grade per year, starting with the 9th grade. The following grades, 10 through 12, will be added from 2021 through 2023, allowing the school to support the transition of current students and exercise quality control over the high school program's development.

“We are thrilled to be able to expand. At Queen City Academy we have been successful with placing our graduating scholars into competitive programs within New Jersey and beyond to continue their education.  However, there are limited local options for students who are unable to place into local magnets, highschools, and/or cannot afford tuition at independent schools outside the district and state, or are unable to secure one of the few available spots in the local charter school lotteries,” says Danielle West-Augustin, Chief Academic Officer. “Through a recent survey, 91.4% of our parents indicated that they would like to have their children continue at QCACS for high school. So the demand from our parents has been clear: they want a guaranteed spot in a safe, high performing high school where their children can flourish.”
