PLAINFIELD, NJ — Plainfield K-12 students can add a little variety to their lunch menus again this week. Local Plainfield 2 Much Sauce Food Truck, has announced it will again offer a free lunch this Tuesday, March 31 from 1:30 to 3 pm.
Owner Kyle Briggs spoke with TAPinto Plainfield about the success of last week's lunch service that fed 230 students. “We were not sure how to plan for the turnout,” he said, “so we just ordered cases of chicken and fries, with the plan to give away any leftovers.”
Cameron Cox, President of the Plainfield Board of Education, Tisha Rice and Eli Edwards were instrumental with this idea.
Briggs said “This Tuesday we hope to serve up to 300 students. Our goal is to uplift the Plainfield community during these hard times.”
To address the current health crisis, Briggs stated that students are instructed to remain in cars with their parents, and the food truck will operate as a “drive-thru”. For those on foot, there are markers on the pavement to enforce the recommended social distancing guidelines currently in place.
Students are offered a meal consisting of chicken wings, fries and a juice or soda. and a choice of their signature sauces; BBQ, Buffalo or plain.
2 Much Sauce food truck is located at 1220 Park Ave across from the former Muhlenberg Hospital; stop by 1220 Park Avenue, from 1:30 pm to 3 p.m.
