PLAINFIELD, NJ - Donnie DeMary, owner of The Studio at D3Fitness believes it takes a village to support those in the local community who are in need. So in the spirit of giving back and celebrating the season of thanks, DeMary and a host of volunteers will be offering a pre-Thanksgiving holiday meal on Sunday, Nov. 24 that he describes as a traditional five-star Thanksgiving dinner.

DeMary explained, “This event serves our community with honor and humility. We give without expectation of anything in return. What’s most important is that we create a memorable experience for our guests. This event truly embraces the 'It Takes a Village' concept.”

DeMary has been hosting the dinners along with using other methods of giving back for Thanksgiving and Christmas for the past 10 years or so; this is the first dinner since 2014. In the past three years, his fitness businesses created and donated food baskets for families.  DeMary said the most successful event provided for over 40 families and individuals.

The volunteers and food are provided solely by D3 Fitness staff and members, including contributions from friends and family members.

DeMary told TAPinto Plainfield that the event is open to all, but the focus is on Plainfield residents.

“All are welcomed. I try to stay away from deciding who is in need, and just move in faith that those who come need it. Hey, it may be a person who ran out of money for the week and just needs a hot meal to get them through the day. I don’t want to place any restraints; we will serve as many folks as we can with what we have. Prayerfully we will have more than what we need, that way we can send folks home with a nice take-out package.”

Those planning to attend the dinner are asked to R.S.V.P. to D3 Fitness by Nov. 23. Call (908) 754-2671 or email
