PLAINFIELD, NJ — The number of lost lives in New Jersey has topped 6,000, Gov. Phil Murphy announced during his daily press conference on Monday.  Locally, six Plainfield residents have died, the highest daily number to date, according to city officials. This brings the total to 32 in the Queen City.

  • Two African American males, each 73-years-old
  • African American female age 83-years-old
  • African American female, 86-years-old
  • African American female, 85-years-old
  • Caucasian individual (gender not identified), 87-years-old

Positive COVID-19 cases in Plainfield stand at 1,379, from 24-days-old up to 96-years-old.  Over 1,900 are self-quarantining.

Mayor Adrian O. Mapp's administration has said it gets its data from the New Jersey Department of Health each day.


How can you get tested?

If you are experiencing symptoms you think may be related to the coronavirus, call 908-546-1084 Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.. You will be connected to a health professional who will conduct a medical telehealth screening.

If you meet the criteria for testing, arrangements will be made for you to be tested at the drive through site at Kean University, or by a mobile unit that will come to you.

After 5 p.m. and on weekends, call the Union County hotline at (908) 214-7107.
