PLAINFIELD, NJ — TAPinto Plainfield heard from sources that Wayne Clarke was out as the city's Business Administrator.  Chief of Staff and Director of Communications Jazz Clayton-Hunt confirmed on Tuesday that Clarke is no longer in the position, effective Monday, March 23.

Clayton-Hunt also confirmed Plainfield City Clerk Abubakar "AJ" Jalloh is currently the Acting Business Administrator.  She did not comment on the circumstances that led to Clarke's removal.

Clarke was sworn in as Business Administrator at the August 12, 2019, City Council meeting.  He replaced Carlos Sanchez, who had taken the helm as Acting Business Administrator on January 31, 2018.  Sanchez had replaced Rick Smiley.
